Secara jujurnya, aku amat mengagumi semua karya-karya agung yang telah 'berjaya' diterjemahkan oleh Allahyarhamah during her joyful life on this earth.

Salam,

   Hari ni takde nak berceloteh panjang kot. Cume nak cakap sikit tentang isu penggunaan Bahasa Inggeris dalam subjek Sains & Matematik kat sekolah (PPSMI). Errr, walaupun isu ni dah boleh di-consider as 'case closed', tapi, sebagai seorang Cikgu, aku nak sentuh gak sikit dari perspektif kaca-mata aku sendiri.

   Apepun, kini aku rase sedikit 'lega' dengan keputusan yang sudah pun di buat dan sedia maklum di segenap pelusuk negara. Syukur. Ini bermakna mereka di sana masih melihat dengan telinga dan mendengar dengan mata. Al-Hamdulillah.

   Mata yang memandang di luar bilahan-bilahan tingkap kelas memang 'mudah' untuk berbicara. Namun, ironinya bagi pelaksana-pelaksana yang melakukannya di dalam kelas, terasa ada satu jurang yang tak dapat tidak lebih kepada the cons. But, I strongly believe that the authority had made the right choice. Kalo tak, mase kan this thing hold for months till yesterday morning, 'aite? It shows they are really working and drilling on this matter.

   I personally thinks that the PPSMI will success if the preparation is WELL DONE. Lack of preparation constitute the major failure. Now it is the time for some re-education. Kids were puzzled, not to mention of course... the teachers!.

   I've conducted a debate between my pupils in Year 4 (Top Class) regarding this issue this morning. Most of the pupils in this class are fluent and can speak English. I divided them into two groups: AGREE or DISAGREE that Science and Maths should be taught in English. What surprised me most was, they were able to discuss even argue about the cons and pros. It reflects to me that they are also alert and do care lots about this matter. Even one of my pupils stand up and did quote the statement by the VIP. Siap ade yang bagitau "Jerman and Jepun boleh je maju guna bahasa diorang. Why not Malaysia?" *erk*

Above all, out of 34 pupils in that class, only 12 agreed. The rest feels that the government decision is the best.

   On top of that, we Malaysians must ask the pupils themselves too. How they feels.. Kadang-kadang bende yang kecil ni la yang kerap terlepas pandang. Walaupun kecil, impaknye besar. Sangat!. Sebab secara sedar ataupun tidak, mereka ni dah pun di-consider as bahan ujikaji.

"Wonder who got the text book contract after this". LOL!.

   Pagi Jumaat lepas mase English period (Year 5) aku ade buat "Spelling" test kat bebudak kelas tu. Spelling test ni memang aku buat once in two weeks untuk menguji tahap keupayaan bebudak ni dalam mengenalpasti every single words yang diorang dah belajar in a certain period of time. Overall, aku puas hati. Tapi, biase la kan.. Dalam bebanyak tu, ade sorang budak yang bile aku mark jawapan dier, mak aiii.. Aku sendiri pun tak dapat detect either budak ni sedang menggunakan bahasa Perancis, German atau Sepanyol. komaa**

Tetibe rase aku punye handwriting kat blackboard is a bit weird. Hehe. Kekadang rase cam ape je bile every time aku settle tulis kat papan hitam and suruh bebudak salin, sure banyak soalan terkeluar macam: "Sir, tu huruf ape?", "Ni huruf A ke huruf D, Sir?", "Sir punye huruf S macam mee goreng laa.." pitamm!!**

There's always a room for improvement, 'aite? :)
